The majority of 12th graders at Larue County High School have many questions or assumptions about graduation and what this ceremony will entail. This monumental occasion will take place on the center football field rain or shine at seven o clock. Parents, family, or guardians form all over come to help celebrate with the student and their special day. Most student however are unaware of the requirements that students must have to participate in this event.

The seniors are required to wear a certain attire when attending the graduation ceremony. The girls are allowed to wear anything, unless it shows above the grown when it comes to shoes the girls have to wear dress shoes. However, as far as senior guys, they are required to wear button up shirt and tie, because it will show above the gown. Dress pants are to be worn with dress shoes. Work boots/ cowboy boots, flip flops, tennis shoes, jeans are not permitted.

Graduation is just around the corner. Seniors must arrive early around 8 a.m. to begin practice on Thursday. Ms. Garris a teacher at Larue County High School and head of Senior Class Committee claims, “Senior guys need to bring their graduation caps to practice taking them on and off, and the girls need to have their dress shoes,” Thursday May 26, 2016 there is an option of attending the senior breakfast that will be served by the teachers and other staff members of Larue County High School. After the breakfast seniors must report to the football field and start practicing up until around 3p.m.

The day of graduation will include the students arriving early around 5 or 6 p.m. and an hour later the gates will be open to the public. Students are not to wear their cap and gowns in the parking lot due to the tradition. Seniors will report to the cafeteria to make sure all attire is appropriate. The students that are participating in senior project may also bring in their belongings. Student are to be in order according to height

The special event starts a new beginning in becoming a young adult after high school for some either straight into the work force, or for others, going to college. After 12 long years of school the students at Larue county high school can finally say they will be able to walk across that stage and receive their diploma.
