My name is Makayla Miller. I am a 18 year old, senior at LCHS. I like to hunt, fish, and ride a four wheeler.

Boy oh boy! It’s that time of the year again where graduation is coming up, senior projects are coming to an end and fun activities are coming together to complete the year. There are so many things to look forward to when you go into senior year such as: senior project, reward trip, graduation, and cap and gown. Are you ready for senior year?

When you think of becoming a senior you ask yourself, “Is senior year really hard?” To answer that question, no senior year isn’t as hard as people make it out to be. The only thing that is hard is the Senior Project because the deadlines come so fast. Senior Project includes a few different things from a simple transcript, to the media presentation at the end of the year.  If you don’t do senior project you won’t be able to graduate. When you turn in everything on time then you get rewarded with a field trip at the end of the year.

“My favorite part of being a senior this year has to be taking on challenging courses. Although they are very stressful, I am proud of myself for stepping out of my comfort zone and trying new things,” Sierra Walls said. You can’t be scared to be a senior because it will just fly by within a blink on an eye. What you can look forward to as a senior is the reward trip at the end of the year. The reward trip is where you get to leave school with your classmates and spend the whole day at the place that is chosen. The past two years it has been either a bats baseball game, or Louisville Zoo for the day. However, if you don’t do the senior project you won’t be able to participate in the reward trip.

“Graduation is coming up and I am sad but excited at the same time. I am about to get out and be on my own and I get to find out what the real world has in store for me” Tyonna Clark stated. Graduation is just around the corner and it’s unbelievable! When you start your senior year you think about all the fun things that you will be doing and you don’t realize that senior year is almost over. You don’t have to participate in graduation. You could just come the next day and get your diploma, but what’s the point in working all year long and not walking with your friends? Now you have to think about cap and gown orders so you can actually walk across the stage. Cap and gowns are $35 and you get to keep it right after you graduate. Sierra added, “I’m so very excited to be able to graduate. There is a whole world out there waiting for me and I hope I can change it with my nursing career.” In order to participate in graduation ceremony you have to order your cap and gown. Now are you ready for senior year?
