The artificial light shined down on long, golden curls and illuminated them. The soft sound of a music box was playing as the small girl hummed. With a gentle caress, she stroked her doll’s curls and played with ends of the strands. As much as she loved her new doll, she had grew bored of the same room. As she brushed her own Shirley Temple curls off her shoulders, she then crawled over to a pale wooden box. She had a smile on her cotton candy lips as she sat on her knees and packed up her new sewing set. She placed the black thread and buttons within the box. The needle, recently cleaned, was then laid in the box by the buttons. Finally finished with her chore, she straightened out her pinky, poufy dress. As she made her way to the door, she spotted a pair of scissors abandoned on the floor. She leaned down and put the scissors in the box, which was cradled in her arms. She finally reached the doorway after she had placed the sewing kit on the shelf along the wall. When she switched the light off, her gaze focused behind her once more. She had spun around on her heel. From her gaze, the only thing in the room seemed to be a single, lonely doll sat in a chair faced away from the light. The smile on her lips seemed to be filled with glee as admired the doll. With a childish and innocent tone of voice, she spoke cheerfully yet softly.

“You always look prettier when you sit still, mommy!”
